DEBRA PRINZING | Editorial Director

A Seattle-based writer, speaker, and leading advocate for American Grown Flowers, Debra has convened a national conversation that stimulates consumers and professionals alike to make conscious choices about their floral purchases.

She is the producer of SlowFlowers.com, the online directory to support American grown farms, florists, shops and studios who supply domestic and local flowers. Debra is also the creator of American Flowers Week (June 28-July 4), launched in 2015 and is the founder of the Slow Flowers Journal.

In 2019, Debra was inducted into PFCI (Professional Floral Communicators International). In 2018 she was the recipient of the American Horticultural Society’s “Great American Gardeners” Frances Jones Poetker Award, which recognizes significant contribution to floral design in publications, on the platform, and to the public. Debra is the author of 10 books, including Slow Flowers Journal and The 50-Mile Bouquet.

"Debra Prinzing is a dot-connector between flower growers, floral designers and home gardeners. Long before she created the Slow Flowers Movement, she's been the go-to expert on all aspects of the cut flower industry."

She has her thumb on the pulse of the cultural shifts in both gardening and floral design that are transforming the way we create more sustainable landscapes while highlighting the good work of local flower farmers.

Debra is nothing if not passionate about using her expertise to make this world a better (and more beautiful) place, one arrangement at a time.
